• Ongoing Improvements at the Site

We’ve been hard at work enhancing the property—preparing it for future events and making it a place that new visitors can fall in love with, just as we have.

Here are some of the key improvements we’ve made since acquiring the land:

    • Installed a solar-powered well pump and a 12,000-gallon water storage tank, complete with a high-capacity access port for use by our neighbors at Cal-Fire, located just down the road.

    • Graded and gravel-paved the entrance road from Route 140, improving accessibility year-round.

    • Extensively graded and paved a new access road—cut through bedrock—to the Lower Meadow, a significantly larger event space on the property.

    • Collaborated closely with county officials to secure our Conditional Use Permit, ensuring responsible and approved development.

    • Completed full pre-event preparations for several major events, which unfortunately had to be canceled late in the planning process due to extreme weather and pandemic-related disruptions.

    • Hosted multiple work parties focused on clearing dead trees and fallen timber—resulting in what will likely be a generous supply of free firewood for seasons to come!

    • Most excitingly, we have now successfully hosted two camping events for the Kingdom of the West in partnership with the Society for Creative Anachronism—a major milestone in realizing our vision for the site.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and excited to continue growing this space into a welcoming home for historical re-enactment and community gatherings alike. Stay tuned—there’s more to come!
